Movie Poster

For my choice project I chose to do a movie poster. This movie is about a family going on vacation to the Bahamas for summer vaction.  I enjoy watching Tyler Perry's Madea movies, so I thought I would create my own. This movie is called Madeas' Family Vacation. I used all my favorite celebrities as the cast members. Chris Brown is a singer/actor and he had been my favorite male artist since I was in middle school. I needed a female actor and the first name that came into my head was Megan Good. She is a well known actress and singer. Justin Dior Combs is the oldest son of Diddy. He is not an actor or musician but he is one of my favorite young socialites. Keke Palmer is an singer, actress and TV star. I though she would be good in this movie because she was in one of the Madea's movies when she was young.

I used this outline from the Little Fockers movie poster. All the cast members are on the right hand side and the title and writing is on the left hand side. In order to see the writing I had to use a bright color for the text. The picture in the background came from Mrs. Rooks. She actually took it when she was in the Bahamas when she was there a few years ago. I thought it would go well with the theme because they were going on vacation to the Bahamas.

My Magazine Cover

For my magazine cover I used the layout of a Seventeen magazine cover. Seventeen is one of my favorite magazines. I subscribe to them so I read every single issue. I love fashion, makeup and celebrities and all of those things are in this magazine. One day I do hope to either work for a fashion magazine or I want to have my own magazine someday. I used a picture of myself for the magazine cover. Usually they have top celebrities like Beyonce, Katy Perry and Lauren Conrad on the cover, but in this project we were supposed to use ourselves. My photo was taken on my cell phone, so it is very small which made it blurry when I blew it up. I had to try different Principals of Design to see if they could change the picture. I ended up using the posterize tool. It made the picture look less blurry but it did add lines all over it, which made it look like there were pixels everywhere.  All the other Principals of Design made the picture lose color or it made it too bright. I had a lot of text all over the picture and my theme color for the text was orange and purple. Each caption had a different font, color, and size that made them all stand out in their own way. The title stands out the most because it is one of the biggest words on the picture. On every Seventeen magazine they have the title on the top in big letters, like most magazines. All around the picture they also have advice, tips and they give you hints on what is in the magazine.  Some techniques I used were to scatter the text all around the picture. I also moved the title to the side so my whole face would be seen. I got ideas for the captions from past issues but I made up most of them. Overall, I was happy on the outcome of my magazine cover.

People I Love

My collage is about the People I Love. In the beginning I was going to do the things I love like YouTube, facebook, and drake but then I thought I would dedicate it to the people in my life. I used pictures of my family, my friends and my cousins too. Most of these pictures were taken on a digital camera or on my phone.

For this project I used many different tools and colors. The theme for my collage is green and purple. I choose this theme because purple is my favorite color and green goes very well with it. I edited most of my pictures by changing the hue, using layer masks and curves. Two of my pictures are purple because I changed the layer mask color and added a purple background to them. Most of my pictures were very dark so I added a lot of color so that they could pop out a little more.

 All these people are in my life and they are always around me so I put them around my picture. I tried to make the pictures the same size but some are a lot bigger than other. They are also in different shapes like rectangles and squares. Overall, I was happy with the outcome of my collage.
